Swinging

Mike built on to our swing set when he took a few days off at the end of March.  He also bought a glider for it for the kids.  They used it the proper way for about a day, and now they have come up with new ways to use it, such as surfing.  So, of course, because Lucy does it, Brandt wants to try it.  We think the pushing and pulling while standing on it taught him how to pump because when it was Lucy's turn, he got down and went to the swing, and with Mike's help he learned how to pump very quickly.  He is getting really good at it and you should see his face while he is doing it... the look of a little boy who has accomplished something.  Way to go, Brandt!!

Peek-a-boo

Laekin plays peek-a-boo!!  I will give her something to cover her eyes with and say "Laekin play peek-a-boo", and she will cover her eyes, actually her whole face, sit there a minute kicking her feet and then pull it down.  We'll say Peek-a-Boo, she'll laugh and then do it again!  I think we did it for about 10 minutes on the changing table the other night.  I love when she doesn't get her whole face covered, and she stares at me with one eye while I am saying where is Laekin.  I just wondering what she is thinking.

Lunch Time

Brandt loves to pray.  So we told him that if he is going to pray he needs to pray loud so everyone can hear him.  So all of a sudden you were hear "Dear Jesus" really loud.  It's very cute!  He used to have meltdowns that someone would pray before him.  So this afternoon, I was on the phone and they came in the kitchen for lunch.  So I handed them their plates and they went and sat down at the table.  I was talking on the phone and I looked over at them at the table and they both had their hands folded and heads bowed, and Brandt was praying.  It was a very precious moment to watch my children sit and talk to Jesus together before they ate.  They amaze me every day.

Firsts

February 24th... we found Laekin looking up at us when we went in to get her from her nap.  She rolled over from stomach to back for the first time.

March 7th ...Laekin had her first food.  It was carrots from Papa's garden.  She loved them and acted like she had been eating solids from a spoon all her life.  Since then she has had green beans, peas, squash, sweet potatoes, apple sauce and banana's.  Surprisingly, she makes faces at the fruits and gobbles up the vegetables.

April 5th... Laekin got her first tooth.

Laekin also really likes to eat her toes when I am changing her diaper.  When I am holding her she will take her chubby little hand and turn my head so she can see my earrings...the girl likes bling.  She also likes to pull hair...ouch!!

A few of my favorite things right now

I love how the girl comes out in Lucy and the boy comes out in Brandt whenever they get a treat.  Lucy savors each bite and takes forever to eat it, and Brandt sees how fast he can shove the whole thing in his mouth.  He than says "look mama, I'm a piggy." It makes me laugh every time. 

I love that Laekin starts eating my face, which makes me giggle and then it makes her start giggling.  I love that Laekin bounces back and forth like she is dancing and sucks her bottom lip while making bubbles.  I love the big smiles that she gives me when I look at her, and the fact that she carefully watches me.  I love her funny face she makes at us by scrunching up her nose and breathing in and out of her nose really fast... so cute!!

I love to listen to Brandt and Lucy play make-believe.  I love that I can still instantly heal boo-boo's with a kiss.  Brandt will be upstairs and will hurt himself.  He will walk all the way downstairs to find me, have me kiss it and will instantly stop crying and then head upstairs to play again.

I love my children...thank you, Jesus how special you made each of them!
